For the August issue of HWM, we'll be reviewing two polar opposites of the standard notebook. One is the Toshiba Qosmio G40, a desktop replacement notebook that's absolutely ginormous in multimedia entertainment. The other is the petite Fujitsu U1010 UMPC, which is the smallest tablet PC we've ever reviewed. Click the jump for a preview of the two notebooks that we'll writing about next month!

Both notebooks with their display open. The Toshiba Qosmio has a 17" screen with 5 Harmon Kardon speakers (one subwoofer!), while the Fujitsu U1010 has a 5.6" screen, which makes the screen slightly larger than the Sony PSP's 4.3" display.
With a twist of the screen, the Fujitsu U1010 can become a tablet PC in slate form! It uses a passive touch screen, so you can use a pointy blunt object to navigate. If you look closely at the top of the right display, you can see the included stylus.

Toshiba Qosmio G40 has lots and lots of space around the palm rest estate. It even comes with a HD DVD writer/player and the screen is 1080p!

Nintendo DS Phat: "...Are you my father?"
Fujitsu U1010: "..."
Look forward to next month's issue for the reviews and more pics! :D
