Contest details:
Contest Duration: 1st December 2006 - 28th February 2007
Registration: Free. Opened to everyone in Asia-Pacific countries
Site: http://www.pinnaclesshare.com
Currently, the "Your Moment of Fame" contest page for the Asia-Pacific region isn't up yet. However, the basic rules of the competition is that you need to upload a 60-second video (30MB max), which will be screened before it is posted online. Even if you don't have any professional video editing software, you can still use Pinnacle's own free online video editing tool.
The grand prize winner of the Asia-Pacific Region will win a complete Home Cinema set, including a Canon Home Cinema projector, a surround audio system, a screen and a DVD player. Sweet!
Some Canon camcorders were on display at the event. Canon also introduced two new professional camcorders, the XH A1 and the XH G1, costing RM17,000 (!) and RM27,000 (!!!) respectively. Unfortunately, both camcorders weren't available for the media to ogle at. :(
The MovieBox Plus version, which allows importation of video from HDV camcorders, output to analog camcorders and VCRs, and TV output for quick real-time preview of your edits and effects. It even comes with a green screen and mic!
The standard Pinnacle MovieBox and MovieBoard was available there too. Also on show was their PodCast Factory for creating custom podcasts, and PCTV Hybrid Pro Stick, which is an ultra-portable digital and analog TV receiver that plugs into your USB port.
Bertrand Godinot, Vice President of the Asia Pacific division of Pinnacle Systems, presenting his key speech and announcing the launch of the contest. Before his arrival, we were informed that he looks a bit like Richard Gere. So what do you think? ;)
Jennifer Ng, the Channel Marketing Manager of Pinnacle Systems, was the next speaker, describing the details of the contest.
Richard Yeow, Senior Director & General Manager of Canon's Consumer Imaging and Information (CII) division, describing their collaboration with Pinnacle Systems.
