Now everyone can iPhone?

The first real working commercial hack for the iPhone? Hmmm....

We recently got something interesting in the mail. A technology site (www.tweaktown.com) recently got a first hand view of what they believe is a soon-to-be commercial hack solution for the Apple iPhone. Using a combination of software modding and a SIM card adapter to "trick" the software locks, the solution will allow you to use any non-AT&T SIM card with the iPhone.

The Tweaktown folks claimed that they tried the solution with a few calls and SMSes and it worked outside the US with a non-AT&T SIM card. Before you rub your hands in glee, they did say that the creators of this solution are working on several kinks before they will sell it to resellers around the world.

Futhermore, the tweaktown guys said that the creators of this solution will probably sell the solution with the iPhone to stores/resellers worldwide. The iPhones supplied won't be pre-modded in any way, instead the stores/resellers will be reponsible for doing that for the end users.

If this solution is for real, we can expect more iPhones to surface outside the US. Maybe one will even make its way to Malaysia.
