Don't know what to do with those old, useless cellular phones? How about organizing a Mobile Phone Throwing Contest for you and your friends?
In a contest recently conducted in Savonlinna, Finland, participants were allowed to choose any cellphone they wish, and then throw it as far as they could.
Christine Lund, the founder of the Cellphone Throwing Contest, mentioned that besides being a source of exercise for participants, the event also had another purpose:
"There are a lot of mobile phones on the second-hand market, and we are recycling them (before they become toxic waste)," she said.
The gold medalist of the event went to Finland's Lassi Etelatalo. The old Nokia unit that he threw reached a whopping distance of 89 meters.
This article came from the Reuters website and can be found on this link: Finn takes gold at mobile phone throwing contest.
Meanwhile, HWM will conduct its own cellphone contest just to see who can throw his/her mobile phone the farthest. There is no price or medals involved in this contest: All we can offer to those brave participants is a recognition for his/her gutsy behavior.
Check out this link for the results of this contest.
Do tell me what you think.
