Samsung UltraTOUCH S8300 Launch: What’s On The Catwalk?

littlelion | 31 March, 2009 01:27

The temperature in Metro Manila has been consistently reaching feverish levels since the onset of summer. But last Friday night, Samsung Philippines further intensified the sizzling summer heat when it locally launched the newest successor of the Ultra Edition lineup – the Samsung UltraTOUCH S8300 mobile phone.

People from different social circles start to gather at one of the metro’s premier hotspots – Embassy – where fashionistas frequently flock together into one, flamboyant fold.

As what we’ve been expecting since its first appearance at the recent Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, the physique of the Samsung UltraTOUCH S8300 clearly insinuates that it is designed to captivate the senses of those individuals who have high regards for their own fashion sense. Nevertheless, unlike the perpetually stereotyped, dumb supermodel character, the UltraTOUCH S8300 is a beauty with brains. Samsung painstakingly crafted this ultra-slim slider and infused it with essential features that were once found only in thicker, heavier handsets. Amongst these features are the 2.8-inch full touchscreen AMOLED display, 8-megapixel camera with autofocus feature, and GPS with geo-tagging function.

A dance number sparked the start of the affair which revolved around the tasteful theme “Bright Nights”.

The launch of a fashionable mobile phone like the Samsung UltraTOUCH S8300 will never be complete without some models walking the ramp. So what are we waiting for? Lights! Camera! Catwalk!

What's the price of being fashionable? Ask Phil Younghusband, Bianca Valerio and Rafa Alunan, 'coz they're bringing home a brand new Samsung UltraTOUCH S8300!

In conjunction with the unveiling of this über-stylish handset, Samsung Philippines also collaborates with the country’s top fashion magazines – Mega, Metro, and Preview – in search for Style Icons who will represent the Samsung UltraTOUCH S8300 and the various facets of Style. Log on to www.samsungultratouch.com.ph, check out the nominees, and vote for your Style Icons. In the photo are Mega EIC Carla Sibal, Metro EIC Katrina Holigores, Samsung Business Unit Head for Samsung Mobile Phones Fe Varilla, Samsung Product Manager Mylene Gabriel, Preview EIC Pauline Suaco-Juan, and the night's hostess, Bianca Gonzales.

One of the night’s pleasing sidelights.

We didn’t have enough time to play around with the Samsung UltraTOUCH S8300 during the event, but we’re looking forward to getting up close and intimately personal with it as soon as it hits our spot. Stay tuned for a print review in the coming issues of HWM Philippines!

I disagree. There's something awkward about this phone. It looks artificial. In any case, fashionistas are artificial people, right?

Hey, you sourgrape. What's your problem? I think you should not generalize all fashionistas.

Could it be the color combination or what? The design of this phone has confusing elements.

You guys should see the phone personally before judging. I'm telling you, the UltraTouch is something to drool about.
