Those who use the Internet a lot definitely wants his/her Broadband maximized. Trouble is, a person cannot really measure the speed of his/her upload and download speed just by using IE/Opera/Firefox.
Just how can you check the speed of your connection you ask? A fun and clear way to check is via a web service called Speedtest.

After logging on to the Speedtest website, All one has to do is to select a server (in this case we used the server in QC), and watch the Broadband "speedometer" as it does a ping test, an upload test, and a download test.
You can also view results and see which ISP (Internet Service Provider) is the fastest around.
Here's a screenie of the fastest uploading ISP in the Philippines:

And the ISPs who have the fastest download speeds:

If you want to fee just how fast your broadband/dial-up connection is, then better head on to the Speedtest website. It's at http://www.speedtest.net. I hope that through this, you will really know if you are getting the broadband speed that you paid for.
