An interesting trend related to Nokia’s newly released cellular phones has been emerging recently to both fascinate and befuddle the common consumer. I am referring to the increasingly common “fake” cellphones that’s been cropping up around tiangges and electronic stores.
No, there's no official PDA version of the N95.

The Asus Formula Striker II is the second nForce 780i chipset-based motherboard to pass through HWZ’s hollowed halls this month, following the well-executed P5N-T Deluxe from the AI lifestyle series. Asus made a very similar board (at first glance) with the same chipset for a reason, and I’m here to explore just what exactly it is that makes this board different from its Asus stable mate and other performance/overclocking oriented motherboards.
Asus makes pretty boxes.

My reviewing a top-of-the-line Samsung SGH-G800 cameraphone should have made me as excited as a kid in a candy store, and for a while, I was – until I really started to delve into the features and specifications of the device.
An unassuming front section hides phat goodness.

In another example of reverse – influence content coming from the game industry, a company called the Music Wizard Group has releases a piece of educational software and corresponding guitar and MIDI pickup devices which they claim will be able to teach the user how to play a real guitar as opposed to one with only 5 colorful, plastic buttons. It’s called the Guitar Wizard, and its rockin’ strings instead of buttons.
Seems almost like a game-screen.

Is there such a thing as a “friendly” war? “Safe” violence? Complete balderdash perhaps, but if there is any one thing that makes such things possible, it would be the little device pictured below.

The status quo is exactly what it means – the middle road, the best compromise, the most fitting example. For years, NAS – Network Attached Storage – options have been limited to either the corporate markets with their multi-million budgets where a mid-level NAS setup would only put a small dent in their budgets, right down to the other end of the spectrum with cheap, no-brand hardisk containers that simply had an attached LAN port at one end.
Although initially mistaken for an AVR, the DNS323 is actually a handsome device.

Happy New Year! We start of the year with our customary gentle poke at the ludicrous ways technology is implemented in our ever – increasing desire to techno-fy everything in our paths.

It’s almost Christmas! If we were to follow the popular song’s instructions everybody would be getting golden rings right about now. As it is, I’d prefer five modules of DDR memory, preferably 1GB in size. Are you listening Santa?

My geeky little heart was performing parabolas of joy when I first saw a motherboard with the 780i chipset, represented by the Asus P5N-T Deluxe. Although supposedly delayed until early next year, our friends at Asus were able to secure for us what looks like a retail product of this new Nvidia – based motherboard.

We’ve been encountering news of a number of flexible screens based on “e-ink” and plastic substrates, but flexible color displays have been on the scene only a few months. The examples available are still nowhere near the color gamut and performance of standard LCDs, but improvement is constant, plus cost doesn’t seem to be a problematic factor.

Imagine bringing this along somewhere. I can't.

What invention of the last century would you reckon to be the most used, in the most numbers, by the most people, the most often? The telephone? Nah. How about wheeled transportation? Perhaps, but not in sheer numbers. To find the “most” invention, we need to get much, much closer – down to the microscopic levels in today’s technologies.
Only half of the "core" consist of transistors, the other half is the cache. 300+ million transistors right there.

This product caught my eye immediately - and as with any consumer item, that’s already half the battle. The Gigabyte G-Power II Pro boasts of an extravagant wing-shape and chromed design that looks fabulous, so the only thing left to determine is how ell such a unique design can perform.
This is the price of being the first in the Philippines to have the G-Power II Pro.

The Palit N73V is the little brother of the N73PV reviewed on these pages a few days back, and like many “little brothers”, this model looks up to his big brother, in both specifications and features.
Specifications are impressve compared to a decade ago.

I’ve been fortunate in being able to review Zotac videocards consecutively over the past few months; partly because of the brand’s quality and workmanship, but primarily due to the unique opportunity it presents me in the form of direct comparisons and as validation for our benchmarking and testing procedures.
Full size hardware - full length and double-slot cooler.

Please note: This entry is entirely satirical, not that most bloggers know the difference between fact and satire. No need to sue me, multi-billion dollar multi-national companies, I have nary a cent to hire a lawyer or give a damn – you can’t get a penny off me anyways.
An iPhone was harmed in the taking of this picture.
