From Reuters.com in an article entitled Xbox for your gun? Mexico Tries Swaps in Drug Fight:

Mexican police are hoping to take the guns out of the streets of Mexico by offering to swap guns for PCs or Xbox gaming consoles.

According to the article, city police chief Joel Ortega said that "anyone who turns in a high-caliber weapon like a machine gun will get a computer." Moreover, other gun owners can swap smaller guns for cash or Microsoft Corp.'s Xbox video-game consoles.

If you think that the Mexicans won't give in to the swapping program, think again. In the first day of the program, they already got 17 guns in exchange for either the $769 PC or X-box.
