Make Your PC A Frying Pan!

LordM | 18 October, 2006 14:39

I am honest enough to say that I am a fries addict. Everytime I go out with my friends to eat out, I order something that has fries as a side dish (like a burger, or fish and chips). But, in case I don't have the money to eat out, I usually buy fries from the grocery, turn on my stove, pour tons of oil on the fryer, and fry away.

But what I didn't know is that you could actually use your PC as a deep fryer... Yes, your own PC as a deep fryer.

Now isn't this convenient?

A guy by the name of "Sc4freak" used an old Pentuim 266 with an Nvidia video card, placed it in an aluminum tray, poured canola oil on it, booted up Windows 98, and played Quake 3.

He soon became hungry and wanted a quick snack. But since he used all his oil to cool his PC, he had one last option: cook his snack right on top of his PC. He placed an electric stove under the tray, put some "chips" (fries) on the tray, while playing Quake 3 to boot. The temperature soon rose 120 degrees and caused his pc to overheat and crash...

Now, that's just plain crazy...

If you want to read all about this crazy act (post of Sc4freak in Hardforum), you can click right here.

A word of caution for our readers: Unless you want to have a deep fried motherboard and a potential risk of obtaining 2nd-3rd degree burns, then please, do not even try this at home. :p

Actually no. If you take a look at the link, he was able to cook his fries and eat it! Hehehe. Seriously though, I won't do that to my PC.
