Who doesn’t have at least one gadget? If you’re reading this, then this is even more of a sure thing, in fact you most probably have at least three. The next question is, how many of these gadgets have a shiny, shiny surface that collects smudges and dust faster than the average Hollywood obsessed signature hound?
A tongue-in-cheek app for the iPhone pokes fun at its tendency to collect..uhhmm..smudges.

The metrosexual movement means that the atypical geek is a thing of the past. Usually. For those who haven’t heard of any kind of movement, including movement in the fashion sense, then a high-tech closet can work wonders. Probably.

Geeks hone their fashion sense while young.

How did our keyboard layout come to be? Is “QWERTY” a result of long hours of research on the best type of input layout and the fastest means of data entry, or is it simply a fluke of design?
The standard QWERTY keyboard on a Sony Vaio laptop.

I don’t know how the Toshiba press people keep straight faces when they announce this latest news, but there you go – Most Eco-Friendly Instant-Heating Toilet Seats. Only from and for our friends in Japan.
Looks aerodynamic... oops! wrong review...

Looking like it came out of a carpenter’s refuse box and somehow got letters attached to its keys, the wooden keyboard featured on (Computer) Geeks.com, along with its bundled mouse, represents the pinnacle of woodworking design and utility. Or perhaps not.
Looks neat, to be honest.

Battery technology has always been in pursuit of the overwhelming advancements of portable devices, thus makeshift devices and patch-up solutions to this shortcoming is always coming out of the woodwork.
Cosplay? Fashion statement? Or portable power?

Hot on the heels of the transformers brouhaha (well, not really, since the movie was released nearly four months ago), this Optimus Prime replica brings tears to this reviewer’s eyes – perhaps due to the sheer amount of chrome used in the conversion.
Bling-y. Looks fit for a pin-ball machine.

Born out of equal parts ingenuity and too many Naruto episodes, a new Japanese “urban camouflage” series of disguises packed into bags and backpacks aims to deter crime by hiding from it.
A portable vend machine? Or a lost ninjutsu?

Ever seen a Japanese national or an anime character doing the victory sign and then saying “V”? Well, a chinese company has taken it as inspiration to “reverse engineer” (i.e. rip off) the Japanese-made Wii console, and they call it a “Vii”.
I'm pretty sure Winnie Churchill wasn't referring to the "Vii".

Today marks the 30th anniversary of the Atari 2600’s unveiling. This may not seem to mean a lot for most people, in fact, the Atari brand is hardly a household name these days, being credited with only a few noteworthy games the past few years.
Part of Atari's original logo.

There have been many classifications attached to the overriding definition of the word “gamer”. From the original tag for a player of board games, to the current whiz-bang, technology oriented geek description; gamers have come a long way.
Grandfather gamers.

AMD may seemingly be out of circulation these days on the “big breakthroughs” and “chart-topping” side of the business, but it heartens loyalists to know that AMD is still working hard to find chinks in Intel’s new-found Core2 armor.

AMD has fast HP regen and godly comeback powers.

The PC modding scene has come and gone like tidewaters after the moon, leaving behind a hard-core enthusiast group that carries on with their modding and PC – embellishing long after most other people has stopped adding blinking lights to their rigs.

How much storage do you actually use on your system? Consequently, how much storage do you actually have? With the availability of all types of media at an all time high and the ability to access and record data from a variety of sources increasing everyday, the need for storage increases – but probably not for everyone.

As well as being a hardware editor and lover of all things tech, I also read a lot of science fiction, mostly from the author Peter Hamilton (highly recommended). From this dual influence, I get a unique perspective for technology as I am holding it in the present and technology as it may look in the (not so near) future – depending on the sci-fi book that I’m reading at the moment.

Science fiction at its best.
