Commentary: Stylish Enough To Overcome Substance

Plugging in your devices is as utilitarian as it goes. As our devices ramp up the style and move into the same “accessory status” as jewelry and handbags, it gets harder to maintain the veneer of sophistication when it comes time to plug in and recharge or synchronize. I mean, have you seen one of those huge power plugs recently? They’re not real pretty, especially for a stylish device.

                                             Understated simplicity, or overpriced box?

The blueLounge “The Sanctuary” charging package has leads for most any popular electronic device you may own, and packages it into a nice, satiny white or black case that can enclose said device where no-one can see it ministrating to the required, routine activities of a typical device – like how any of us, stylish or not, needs to go to the washroom from time to time. The Sanctuary is basically a bunch of properly labeled cables and connectors grouped into a single device that uses only a single plug-in source. It can fit perhaps four to a maximum of five devices at once inside the case, but it can conceivably charge all of your devices at once, with most of the other devices hanging out of the case’s sides.

                                             OOh... Ok...

                                             The Cable Sanctuary.

For the purpose of this device though, this is definitely not the way to go – the only reason to invest (yes, invest) in this device is because it offers a cleaner and more stylish, not to mention a more portable way to power your devices on the go. The point of the device is to streamline your err… charging experience, and if you’re the type that places quite a bit on appearances, you’d not like having your devices hanging out of a box any more than having a dozen different adaptors in your briefcase / handbag. For roughly P5000 bucks, streamlined charging is yours to keep.

Isn't there an option for an Oki 5000?

                                             Choose your poison.

In this The Sanctuary shines. It protects your devices while giving the owner a simultaneous charging device that does not look cluttered. Of course, the same result can be achieved by getting a plain plastic box and a cheap 12-socket extension cord, and hiding it in the corner. Then again, fashion statements aren’t always practical, or cheap. More pictures to follow.
