I am honestly unable to react in a “clear, concise” way (as my English prof told me a couple of times when I started to wander through multiple topics – and here I go again…) when it comes to this obviously Valentine – related product straight from China.

                                             It's a great idea, but something doesn't sit right with me...
 

The Newman Heart-shaped MP3 player aims to bring a new twist to the heart-imbalanced – an MP3 player that can be split into two. Now even from my meandering stance right here, I can see a lot of problems stemming from this idea made flesh-and-plastic. The “crack” looks like the crack a broken heart would make (in a plastic heart at least) – and doesn’t that send all kinds of wrong signals? Plus, the two halves of the heart are shaped like a kissing couple….which is actually a good, if cheesy idea.

                                             I'm sure their design inspiration didn't come from this...

The device is finished in red, appropriately enough for a February, Valentine release. It is actually two players that can be combined together, and one would presume that they can both be loaded with your favorite music (probably from David Pomeranz), unless of course your “better half” likes something else, in which case you just scored another “negative point” on top of the whole broken-hearted shape of the MP3 player.

                                             Maybe Jay Leno lent his visage as a template for one-half of the device?

No other details are available for the device, details like capacity, compatibility and price, but I’m assuming it will be ready before February 14. Then there’s the whole problem of it not being available anywhere else except in China. Unfair! Or is it? It really depends on people’s tastes, and aside from Japan (those polite and somewhat skewed, lovable people) I don’t see many other markets where a device like this would sell. We never know though, do we, especially since this is the month for hearts, even for broken ones.
