It’s almost Christmas! If we were to follow the popular song’s instructions everybody would be getting golden rings right about now. As it is, I’d prefer five modules of DDR memory, preferably 1GB in size. Are you listening Santa?
For us tech heads and computer maniacs, it’s time to put aside the mouse and the keyboard and stretch RSI – afflicted limbs before heading out with the family or with friends where the sun shines and there’s splotchy internet WiFi access. Don’t try and look for better reception you guys – this time is for the flesh-and-blood interactions instead of the flesh-and-bots interactions.
For the family with an incurable tech – obsessed guy or girl who doesn’t want to go along – drag them off their seats and put them in the sun somewhere – they need their Vitamin D. For you tech heads on the other hand, no need to worry, get your portable cameras or videocams, maybe your laptops as well – but bring them on the condition that they are to be used to make the trip more enjoyable. No fishing around for hot spots unless absolutely necessary!!

For both parties, know that getting together can be enhanced by the technology that we have today – but only if shared with your companions. iPods = win if paired with speakers, and laptops make for great group games. The point is, Christmas is the best time to get together, and geeks shouldn’t be excluded in the festivities – and to make sure of this – both parties must make the effort. Merry Christmas from HWZ!
Oh yeah - I say "beach" because that's where I'm going with the family - and we don't have snow here in the Philippines anyway.
