Ever seen a Japanese national or an anime character doing the victory sign and then saying “V”? Well, a chinese company has taken it as inspiration to “reverse engineer” (i.e. rip off) the Japanese-made Wii console, and they call it a “Vii”.
I'm pretty sure Winnie Churchill wasn't referring to the "Vii".
They have a very appropriate, if uninspired naming sense.
It was considered a prank when the first rumors came out, but it turns out this Chinese company is all business. Regardless, if this unit will play any games half-decently, then there will probably be a market for them especially in a free-for-all market like ours. But then again, if the games copy Nintendo’s and are any good at all, legal action will become a surer thing, even here.

Get the new Vii! 25% bigger, heavier, but a lot cheaper!
It is probably only a matter of time before Nintendo lawyers are doing the “Viictory” sign themselves as soon as they swoop down on this shameless act of sacrilege on the name “Wii”.
(Through Engadget China)
Vii offers a lot of options.
No need to wait for "special editions" for a pink version.
