Events: The One-Box Server That Deserves Consumer Attention

eddard | 25 September, 2007 19:02

HardwareMag is a publication that focuses more on the consumer – centric products, desirable and easily attainable by the regular Joe and Jenny. Yet at the same time, of interest to many tech savvy people are hardware products that serve and perform from the background, without fanfare and fancy packaging. A quick commentary can be found here.

This is what we usually show to our readers...

Events: Sony VAIO: Pride Of Ownership

eddard | 14 September, 2007 17:27

We were fortunate enough to be able to witness Sony’s VAIO line enter the country after years of gray market and overseas purchases. Sony held its four product-lines launching on September 12, 2007 at the Makati Shangri-La. The Sony VAIO TZ, UX, SZ and FZ lines were presented to the media, to a mixture of excitement that’s present at any new product launching, and a degree of familiarity that is a result of events on many different levels.

Events: Global Philippines

eddard | 29 August, 2007 17:01

I’ve never paid much attention to the going-ons of the big telcos in our country, never noticed, for example, that astounding advances has already been made right under my nose while I was absorbed with computer hardware and consumer electronics.

Events: One Evening of Power and Color

eddard | 17 August, 2007 16:32

I’ve always wondered about the connotation of colors used in a company’s products. In the videocard business, there are only two worthwhile competitors: ATI and Nvidia. One is red, the other green. Strangely, a stoplight keeps popping into my head, but seeing that ATI is such a well-respected company, what color it’s represented with doesn’t seem to matter too much.

Events: Windows Mobile 6.0 > Cattleya

eddard | 16 August, 2007 17:53

Windows Mobile 6 was introduced to a small gathering of media and hardware partners recently. It had none of the swagger or pomp that heralded the recently held Vista unveiling – which is about right because what was being introduced after all is a serious piece of software coding, for serious working professionals.

Events: HP: Light and Shadow

eddard | 13 August, 2007 11:20

HP’s event was neither an all out, haute couture gathering that left out the teeming masses of geeky sub-culture, nor was it a dry and tedious affair with charts and graphs full of technical details that would have driven off the fashion cognoscenti.

Last 14 April 2007, Acer Philippines took its friends from the media out and far away from their respective daily grinds for a little fun under the hot summer sun. But if you had sand, sea, and Speedos on your mind, dear reader, better think again.

LordM | 25 April, 2007 14:32

Words and Photos by: Ms. KC Calpo

HP Imaging and Printing Group Asia Pacific/Japan unveiled to the regional IT media last week their secret to eradicating workplace hassles involving printing. From April 16 to 17 of this year, we were privy to what makes HP's Edgeline technology the next step in network printing efficiency, convenience and security. I had the honor of being there to cover the regional launch and represent HWM Philippines, and my companions, for their respective companies and publications.

HWM Singapore's Deputy Editor, Justin Ong, has already delved into Edgeline, the four-year road it took to get to its current state, what sets it apart from the rest and what it can do for enterprises and high-volume printer users in his online coverage (click here to read). We, in turn, present you what went on during the event itself. Don't forget to look for our in-depth coverage in the June 2007 issue of HWM Philippines!
