Eastwood City turned into an adrenaline-drenched battleground for the racers of HP’s multifunction printer (MFP) challenge which was held last week. Getting the most out of HP’s dependable array of LaserJet MFPs, which include the M1319f MFP, CM1312 MFP, and CM2320n MFP, select members of the local press raced against time and each other to find clues and complete certain tasks which will eventually lead them to the coveted finish line and a host of exciting prizes.

Participants gathered round at Eastwood City’s Central Plaza to receive their instructions and the rules of the challenge. Representatives from HP Philippines Imaging and Printing Group (IPG), Commercial & Enterprise Business Manager Mr. Jerome Nicdao (front) and Partner Sales Specialist Mr. Edgardo Kasunuran Jr. (rear), provided the participants with a brief preview of the purpose of the challenge.

The racers were divided into three teams – Red, Green and Blue – with our very own HWM and Hardware Zone boys being separated and included into Red and Blue team respectively.

At the start of the clock, the racers wasted no time and frantically scrambled to their designated starting stations with the Red Team off to a good start.

Here comes the Green Team...

...and last but not the least, the Blue team.

The last leg of the race involved a very special task. The racers were assigned to compose a love letter on the spot, with points given to speed of composition as well as spelling, and then to convince a lady passer-by to come up on stage and read to her the completed love letter. The Red Team got the first try...

...followed by the Green Team.

The Blue Team, however, failed to follow instructions which awarded them a penalty. Instead of a love letter, they were asked to compose a product proposal.

In the end, despite the odds, the Blue Team earned the most points and got to bring home a brand new HP LaserJet M1120 for each of its members. The Red Team came in second, with the Green Team taking up the rear. Both teams were also awarded with special prizes.

Despite being on different teams, our HWM and Hardware Zone boys fought with courage, strength, and grace to concede defeat to the other...

...or not.

In fairness, it appears that the HWM/HWZ boys are the youngest among the crowd.
