As always with LG, no expense was spared on the launch of their newest cell phone, the LG Secret, at Club Ascend at Bonifacio High Street last July 9.
The venue looked more like a combination of a catwalk and a Vegas chorus line with the multitude of lights and smoke machines. The LG Secret, more colloquially known as the LG-KF750, is part of LG’s Black Label series, and boasts the typical suave good looks of its older stable mates, the Chocolate and the Shine. LG is determined to become a top-three phone handset supplier, and in fact is steadily gaining market share both locally and worldwide. With the release of this top-of-the-line handset, LG has further filled out its consumer offerings and further strengthened its position as a premium handset manufacturer.

While LG has been overshadowed in recent years by competitors more focused on the mobile communications space, LG is now concentrating on improving their brand recognition in this space – the Secret is designed to overcome this, create a buzz for the company, and prove that LG is as capable creating cell phones as it is capable of excelling in other industries. The naming of the LG Secret is no accident; it is meant to convey the presence of intrinsic features that the buyer discovers and delights in once they start to use it in earnest. With features like a carbon fibre rear shell, motion sensing ability, a reinforced glass front, and the slimmest form factor with a 5MP, super capable digital camera, the Secret definitely does not hold back in the features department, which will help make its name an oxymoron to the general buying public – the Secret is out, and its got much to prove.
