HP has a lot to be happy about these days. With combined posted sales catapulting HP into the number one spot in the Asia Pacific Region in nearly all product categories they’re involved in, HP only reinforces its position by unveiling a veritable feast of new products.

HP’s happy thoughts are rubbing off of gadget fans after HP launched the largest range of HP iPAQs in the country’s history, bringing out 5 models all at once at their annual “Big Bang” event held at 1 Esplanade near Mall of Asia (which seems to be turning into the “it” place for product unveilings and swanky events), named “Intimately You”. The Big Bang moniker is definitely appropriate, since a total of 11 new printers was also unveiled during this event.

The delicious iPAQ 912.
Of the iPAQs, the 3G-enabled 912 and 612 models definitely perked up our collective interest more. These new handhelds gives a business professional or the tech-obsessed guy multiple connectivity options such as email, voice, GPS navigation, through its integrated 3G HSDPA and quad-band technology (GSM, GPRS, EDGA), as well as Wi-Fi. These two models go by the names Business Messenger and Business Navigator, respectively.

The "lower-end" 112 doesn't look like it is.
The iPAQ 312 Travel Companion deserves special mention due to its targeted user of “local road warrior” and “adventurer”. This model has a 4:3-inch widescreen display, and serves as a navigator and an entertainment device in one. Pre-installed games and the ability to play a multitude of entertainment formats will make this device a favorite of media enthusiasts.

Dazzles even if it doesn't look at all like a PDA.
Rounding out the new iPAQ models were the 112 “Classic” and the 212 “Enterprise” handhelds. These handhelds has a trim feature list targeted at the trim budgets and specific requirements of the student and corporate professional alike. The 112 has a sleek and thin profile, while the 212 boasts of a 4” touch screen suited to running business applications.
These models are to be pushed out into the market this coming November, so remember that you saw it here first!
A total of 11 new printers – three DeskJet models, three Photosmart models, and five Officejet models, were shown during the event, all with one central focus: the increasing need to ease editing of content and the actual printing of this content. According to HP, a simple explanation would be to make ready “Print 2.0” for the upcoming “Web 2.0” where online content more often than not is printed up for reference by anyone with access to the internet. These printers are designed to make it easy to print whole pages from online without excess editing of said content – to the point that this process becomes a one-step affair.

To facilitate this, HP has incorporated smart printing technologies that “prints what you see” on your screen. Combined with HP’s insistence on good design and reliable operation, these new printers will give the consumer endless choice that fits whatever needs they have.

HP encloses users within a box made with their mantra of "Total Customer Experience".
Given all of these new models, we are reminded of HP’s overriding policy of a “Winning Framework” – one that centers on the total customer experience in its design, features, and usability. Look out for these new releases.
