I recently attended the "Beyond Freedom in Boracay" Event of Toshiba on behalf of Hardwarezone Philippines last March 19 - March 21, 2007. While it was tiring, I really had fun and I was able to find out what's new from Toshiba.

Allow me to share to you what transpired during those three days...

Day 1 (March 19, 2007)

I arrived in Boracay around 8 in the morning and this sandcastle made by some locals welcomed us...

We had the whole morning and afternoon to settle down, check out the white sandy beach, take a swim, and have a henna tattoo and/or braids.

I took the plunge and had my really short hair braided. Here's what I look like right after my "spider" henna and "pineapple" braid...

It was around 7:00pm when Ms. Juno and Sir Boogie formally welcomed us to the "Beyond Freedom in Boracay" event.

We talked, ate, and danced the night away with the band. Moreover, some of us even got the opportunity to sing! Here's Mr. Junichi Ishikawa singing a Japanese song for all of us.

Mr. Lim Kim Meng also sang a song, this time in Chinese.

Having fun in the sand is good, but getting together is much, much better.

Fire was not as issue in Boracay as professionals took the situation under control...

And finally, Ms. Juno and Sir Boogie ends the event for the first night by announcing the activities for Day 2.

Day 2 (March 20, 2007)

Things were more serious on the second day as we attended the "Beyond Freedom with Toshiba" briefing.

Mr. Junichi Ishikawa, General Manager for South and Southeast Asia (Computer Division), was the first one who gave his presentation.

Mr. Junichi started off by saying: "As the world's IT leader, we set the milestone and develop the path for future growing mobile computing." He then continued on: "Toshiba will change its focus from consumers to seikatsu (potential users with different lifestyles) through its new slogan: Beyond Freedom."

Mr. Lim Kim Meng, Manager (Distributor Business) for Indonesia, Philippines and Indochina (Computer Systems Division), also gave us a short presentation.

He mentioned that Toshiba aims to become Number 1 in the B2C and Number 3 B2B market. In order to do this, Toshiba aims to put quality first, launch innovative products, and give the "WOW!" factor to everyone.

Finally, Mr. David Woon gave us an overview on what to expect from Toshiba this year.
