littlelion | 25 June, 2009 22:44

It has been a while since we featured something new from MSI and like their notebook which we reviewed a few months ago, it is another media-centric product. In spite of their quite hectic schedule, sandwiched between by the recently concluded Computex and the upcoming MSI Master Overclocking Arena (MOA), the Taiwan-based computer company has managed to send us the G41TM-E43 motherboard for our scrutiny.

The fairly unassuming box of the MSI G41TM-E43 motherboard shows us a glimpse of what to expect from a modern media-centric motherboard – the presence of an HDMI connector.

But before we proceed to that subject matter, let’s check out some of the ace features that this TV has under its sleeves.

Logitech G13 Advanced Gameboard And G35 Surround Sound Headset: Must Haves For Gamers

littlelion | 19 June, 2009 13:02

PC gaming is alive and kicking in the Philippines and IDC (International Data Corporation) is showing us some relevant figures that support such a vigorous statement. From about 6.3 million last year, the estimated population of Filipino gamers is incessantly increasing at present. IDC is predicting that it would reach 7.8 million by the end of 2009. Noteworthy, these numbers pertain only to the online gaming community in the country, not including those who are into other sorts of game genres. Nonetheless, these stats are already adequate to provide us with what’s happening in the local gaming business.

Likewise, based on these figures, we should also see why gaming peripherals are a big venture for manufacturers such as Logitech. By simply visiting their website, you could see that the Swiss company has a fairly comprehensive arsenal of weapons for hardcore types of gamers. Two new additions to this elite armory are the Logitech G13 advanced gameboard and the Logitech G35 USB gaming headset, both of which had a stopover at our new, sweet home recently.

Sony BRAVIA KLV-46W550A 46-inch Full HD LCD TV: The Star Of The Season

littlelion | 16 June, 2009 22:32

Another hit season is going to end and we’re not just talking about the spectacular NBA Finals. It is also going to be a great season in which a classic sequel will make it, again, to the big screen. Likewise, here at HardwareZone, we kept our eyes keen on the sequels of some hero products that we had previously met last year. One of them is the new member of the Sony BRAVIA W Series, the KLV-46W550A which is the follow-up of the award-winning KLV-32W400A model.

As most Japanese full HD LCD TV models are not as flirtatious as their blushed Korean counterparts, the KLV-46W550A follows a modest convention, personifying dignified and discreet beauty. Bordering around its huge display is a lustrous, black frame underlined with a mirror-like lining and a built-in soundbar below.

LG Scarlet LH70 Full HD LCD TV Launch: When It Rains, It Pours

littlelion | 10 June, 2009 15:05

For the first half of 2009, this is the second time around in which we braved the pouring rain just to be present at a product launch of LG Philippines. Don’t consider this as a complaint, but a compliment, bearing in mind that rain has always been considered as a good portent of prosperity since the olden times. As a matter of fact, this is an actuality for LG who now ranks as the world’s third largest mobile phone manufacturer. Another important fact which is very much related with our story today, LG is also the second largest producer of television sets worldwide.

Following on the success of the LG70, the original Scarlet, LG Philippines organized the launch of the LH70, the new Scarlet model, last week.

Samsung SyncMaster LD190 USB LCD Monitor: Principal Peripheral

littlelion | 04 June, 2009 16:07

USB monitors are no longer new articles of trade for Samsung. As a matter of fact, the company was the one responsible for unveiling the world’s first USB monitor, the SyncMaster 940UX, at CeBIT in 2007. Doing without the other conventional means to hook up an LCD monitor to a PC, such as VGA and DVI, the 940UX only uses USB connection. Hence, with this monitor, a graphics card is not required.

Fast forward to the present, Samsung refreshed its lineup of USB monitors, introducing the 18.5-inch LD190 and its 21.5-inch relative, the LD220. Among the two models, we have chosen the former as the subject matter of our blog today.

ASUS UX50V Notebook: Slim In Design, But Not In Features And Performance

littlelion | 02 June, 2009 16:56

The two new notebook offerings from ASUS can be simply summed up into one central theme: the enrichment of notebook design through the espousal of elements inspired by the beauty of nature. To be more specific, what we are speaking of are the ASUS Eee PC Seashell netbook, whose design is derived from the image of a marine mollusk, and the ASUS UX50V notebook, which is influenced by the charm of a delicate butterfly. Favorably, for your interest and ours, the latter gracefully landed on us for our perusal and eventually, approval.

More often than not, notebooks with discrete graphics cards are thick and hefty to the point that they contradict with their purpose as mobile computers. Conversely, the ASUS UX50V is slim and relatively light, in spite of being equipped with an NVIDIA GeForce G105M graphics card and a 15.5-inch LED-backlit LCD.
