littlelion | 29 May, 2009 14:10
While most of the events, particularly printer launches in the past, of HP Philippines Imaging and Printing Group (IPG) were often held in high-profile venues in the metropolis, our recent rendezvous with HP Scitex and Designjet printers was a totally different experience.
Take note, what we are talking about here are not those ordinary consumer types, but printing machines that can be as large as a bulldozer. Hence, at the recent three-day open house tour held from May 22-24, HP IPG brought us to the locations where the actual business of large-format printing is taking place.

The recent local launch of new Sony BRAVIA HDTVs, which was held in EDSA Shangri-La last week, has reflected Sony’s continuing realization of its two honorable commitments: product excellence through unique technological breakthroughs, and responsible corporate citizenship through ethical practices and environmental responsiveness. As words are not enough to explicitly expound on these philosophies, we are bringing right before you a vivid blow-by-blow account of the said affair.
The introduction of Sony’s latest BRAVIA range gave the local media the opportunity to witness how their inimitable innovations can be integral to one’s personal life to transform his or her home entertainment experience, beyond definition.

After conquering the land in Rizal and overpowering the waves in Cagayan de Oro, the Acer Group, together with select members of the local media, had set their sights towards vanquishing the sky in Pampanga and triumphed over it at the recent Acer Group Media Summer Power Fest 2009.
Similar to the two past races that the Acer Group had formulated, this year’s Media Summer Power Fest put to the test, not only the brain muscles, but the physical muscles of its participants through a series of time-constrained challenges.
ASUS Eee PC Seashell 1008HA Netbook Launch: Setting Up The Summer Peak Mood
littlelion | 25 May, 2009 13:36
We’re already in the dénouement of summer and just a few days from now, we will be officially entering the wet season. Even so, ASUS seemingly doesn’t pay attention to such weather trends. In fact, the Taiwan-based computer company has just set the mood of a blooming summer atmosphere during the launch of the ASUS Eee PC Seashell 1008HA at the InterContinental Manila hotel last week.
Obviously, we were neither in Boracay nor El Nido, but ASUS made certain that our near-beach experience was complete with the presence of white sand, poi dancers and of course, gorgeous ladies.
Western Digital My Book World Edition: Do Not Judge My Book By Its Cover!
littlelion | 22 May, 2009 13:37
From the outside, the latest My Book World Edition appears similar to the other My Book releases which Western Digital introduced in the past. However, we assure you that it is not. Color white aside, it is an entirely different mammoth of storage unleashed from WD’s stable, arriving with either 1TB or 2TB of hard disk drive storage.
Western Digital’s choice of color makes the My Book World Edition a classy attraction to Apple Mac fans. OS-wise, it’s compatible with Mac OS X Tiger or Leopard. Nonetheless, it’s well-matched with PC users, since it works with Microsoft Windows XP and Vista as well.
Sony Handycam HDR-XR200 Camcorder: Savoring The Good Times In High Definition
littlelion | 19 May, 2009 10:09
During the summer launch that Sony had kicked off back in March, amongst the spectacles that grabbed our curious attention was their new batch of Handycam camcorders. Comprising the top of the line is the AVCHD HDD camcorder category, divided into two subgroups according to the CMOS sensor type: the Exmor R-based which consists of HDR-XR520 (240GB) and HDR-XR500 (120GB); and the Exmor-based which includes HDR-XR200 (120GB) and HDR-XR100 (80GB). To fulfil our curiosity, our friends from Sony Philippines sent us the HDR-XR200.
Like the rest of Sony’s current AVCHD offerings, the HDR-XR200 shows off a very masculine outline, insinuating its solid construction.
The Price Is Right: Only Original HP Cartridges Can Provide Authentic Value
littlelion | 15 May, 2009 12:10
Printing has always been a serious business for HP. It is no monkey business and that is why HP’s Imaging and Printing Group (IPG) is relentless in promoting the use of original consumables with HP printers to consumers and business entities. But in a society like ours, in which falsehood has been a mordant part of reality, how does HP IPG handle the ordeal? HP makes a solid response by presenting some important figures that small- and medium-sized businesses (SMBs) should ponder upon.
Collaborating with QualityLogic, a world-renowned firm with more than two decades of experience in printer and MFP testing, HP conducted a region-wide research comparing the reliability and print quality of original HP 10A and 42A monochrome LaserJet toner cartridges with that of remanufactured counterparts.
Samsung AV Roadshow 2009: A Showcase Of Audio And Visual Advancements
littlelion | 12 May, 2009 15:41
Samsung, as we know, is known for good and beautiful things that start with the letter “s” – sexy, stunning and sophisticated. As a manifestation of this impression, the local arm of the Korean giant recently showcased a new array of CE innovations at the Samsung AV Roadshow 2009 which was held at the NBC Tent in Taguig City.
Though the Rockwell Tent could be a fine venue as well, Samsung’s wise decision to use the NBC Tent should give you a fair idea of how large the event was. It’s not our intention to spoil your reading, but we’re telling you – it’s a BIG SHOW!

Certainly, YouTube is one of the most fascinating wonders that the Internet has brought to its loyal netizens. Considering that it is the world’s largest video hosting website with more than 100 million visitors monthly, YouTube has become too influential that even China fears it. Political matters aside, given such a huge market, it is a lucrative prospect in essence, and JVC is grabbing the chance through the introduction of the Everio GZ-MG680.
Together with models GZ-MG630 and GZ-MG670, the onyx black GZ-MG680 is a standard definition digital camcorder under the Everio G series. Pondering that most YouTube buffs are likely easygoing teens and casual consumer types, this camcorder is primarily designed with simplicity in mind. It brandishes the familiar YouTube logo on its side as if it’s talking loud and straight to its audience.
Samsung SyncMaster P2350: A Stunner For The Season
littlelion | 05 May, 2009 12:19
In the same way as Manny Pacquiao is admired as one of the best pound for pound boxers of our time, Samsung Electronics is also revered as one of the world’s largest producers of LCD panels today. The day after the Pinoy puncher had floored his English foe, the Korean chaebol re-proclaimed its market leadership by announcing that it had sold over 10 million large-sized LCD panels in April. Quantity aside, Samsung’s leadership in the business is fortified further by the superb quality of their desktop displays and LCD HDTVs. Browse the Internet and you’ll find that they are amongst the most eye-catching. A solid proof of this is the Samsung SyncMaster P2350.
The overall appearance of the 23-inch P2350 obviously mirrors the public’s positive response to the Touch of Color (ToC) design. To recall, Samsung initially introduced ToC on its high end monitor and HDTV models (T220 and Series 7) last year. ToC features a hint of amber color naturally blended into Samsung’s piano black bezel frame, achieving a blown glass effect. Noteworthy, since Samsung employs a double injection molding, the manufacturing process eliminates the usage of spray paint which is essentially harmful to the environment and human health.
