Channel X Powers Christina Aguilera In Singapore!

“Ain’t No Other Telco...” is the tune that Celcom (Malaysia) Berhad’s contest winners sang on the bus on their way to the all expense paid trip to Singapore to catch the concert performance of globally renowned pop princess, Christina Aguilera.

By simply downloading as many “Christina” contents as they can from Celcom’s exclusive one-stop online Mobile Content portal, Channel X, 10 die-hard fans won the opportunity to catch their favourite superstar’s Back to Basics concert without having to worry about a single thing, as every single detail of the trip was taken care of.

The flag-off event at Menara Celcom, which took place on 30 June 2007, was a joint effort with Sony BMG Music, and was officiated by Celcom’s Senior Vice President of Marketing, Encik Zalman Aefendy Zainal Abidin together with Mr Adrian Lim, Managing Director of Sony BMG Music. Specially designed “Christina” placards were given out to the winners for them to show and wave their love for the singer, at the concert.

Speaking at the event, Mr Lim said, “We are pleased to work with Celcom in rewarding Christina Aguilera’s loyal fans. Since her concert would not be held in Malaysia, Celcom is taking her fans to the concert in Singapore instead.”

Adding to the excitement and anticipation of this once in a lifetime event, the winners got to travel with a chosen friend in a spectacular “Christina Aguilera” bus, painted the signatory Channel X purple with Christina’s seductive blond good looks emblazed on the body of the bus.

The Christina contest was especially conceptualized online with the objective to demonstrate advanced Wap and Web capabilities, as well as to provide subscribers an outlet to experience first hand the many powerful benefits of Channel X. The contest ran from 1st June - 22nd June 2007, and subscribers with the highest Christina Aguilera Content download from Wap, Web and Call Me Tones won the chance to make the trip.
