December 8, 2006, Taipei -- The outbreak of a hardware and software upgrade revolution is expected in 2007 when the Microsoft Vista is launched at the end of the year. Besides the demand for high-capacity DRAM modules, the ReadyBoost function of Microsoft Vista will boost the growth of NAND flash memory.
The ReadyBoost technology of Microsoft Vista can automatically distribute the capacity of any external memory device (EMD), such as mobile disks, and assign the excessive space for system use to accelerate the operating system. In this case, flash memory will be used as virtual memory on Microsoft Vista. In addition to accelerating the system startup function, it reduces hard drive access to extend drive life. When users unplug the mobile disk from the system, the data on the mobile disk will not be lost, nor will the system operation be affected. Moreover, the system will run at its original efficiency.
To cope with the advent of Microsoft Vista and to meet the needs of customers and consumers in the future, all USB Mobile Disks from TwinMOS have passed Microsoft Vista Certification for compatibility, i.e. all Mobile Disks from TwinMOS are Microsoft Vista compatible. Moreover to allow consumers enjoy the advanced speed and convenience of Microsoft Vista, all TwinMOS high-speed Mobile Disks, i.e. Mobile Disks with 512MB or greater capacity, support the ReadyBoost function of Microsoft Vista. These include the Z4, X4, X5, L1, L2, M1, S1, MDIII and MDIV models.
