Taipei, Taiwan -- The Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA) has announced the winners for the 17th Taiwan Excellence Awards, and nominees for the Gold/Silver Awards. ASUS has attained an outstanding 53 Taiwan Excellence Awards this year—the most among all contestants—emerging once again as the top award recipient for the fifth consecutive year. Furthermore, three ASUS products have been nominated for Gold/Silver Awards: the Eee PC S101, the Bamboo Series Notebook, and the P552w PDA Phone.
The sheer number of global awards conferred on ASUS products bears testament to ASUS’ commitment to developing world-class products and helps to generate a strong Taiwanese brand presence worldwide. It also demonstrates the success that ASUS has had in integrating innovative design with aesthetics drawn from Eastern and Western influences.
The Taiwan Excellence Award is bestowed on products that embody the traits of “R&D/Innovation”, “Design Innovation”, “Quality Systems”, “Marketing”, and “Brand Awareness”. Held annually, the Taiwan Excellence Award competition is sponsored and promoted by the Board of Foreign Trade, Ministry of Economic Affairs, and carried out by TAITRA as part of an effort to improve the international image of Taiwan’s products.
