Sony Styles Up With New Walkman MP3 Players

Sony’s latest Walkman MP3 player range features vibrant coloured Style-Up panels and new Quick Charge technology for mobile music lovers

Sony Electronics Asia Pacific introduces the Walkman NWD-E020F series, the latest eye candy additions to the Walkman family. With an emphasis on fashion, the compact NWD-E020F series features replaceable Style-Up panels that allow users to change the color of their Walkman to suit their wardrobe or mood. Combining form with function, this new Walkman series is available in 1GB and 2GB models, and can store up to an impressive 1,350 songs or 90 hours worth of music.

The NWD-E020F comes supplied with Style-Up panels that are available in five different sets: Pure White and Precious Gold; Luxury Pink and Jewel Pink; Ocean Blue and Forest Green; Urban Black and Shiny Silver; as well as Blazing Red and Indigo Blue. In addition, users can choose from 10 optional Style-Up panels to complement their varied lifestyles.

The Walkman series is not just about aesthetics, though. It combines innovative features like Quick Charge and Clear Audio technology to ensure that this Walkman is also big on sound. The Quick Charge function is engineered to suit today's mobile lifestyles. Users are able to charge the player for three hours worth of playback in just three minutes. On a full charge of an hour, the NWD-E020F will also deliver up to 28 hours of continuous playback1. With two of Sony's Clear Audio technologies, Clear Bass and Clear Stereo, the NWD-E020F promises high-quality stereo sound with no signal leakage from left or right channels and true bass reproduction without distortion.

"Sony understands our customers' desire for sleek and stylish mobile music companions that perfectly complement their multi-faceted mobile lifestyles," said Mr. Ikeda Shinichiro, General Manager of Personal Audio Division, Sony Marketing Asia Pacific. "The NWD-E020F series is carefully designed with Style-Up panels and relevant features to address this need for MP3 players with chic design and long-lasting battery life, allowing users who are always on the go to enjoy their music."

To complete the mobile music experience, the NWD-E020F makes it easy and quick to keep up with the latest tunes. Designed with a simple drag-and-drop interface and direct USB outlet, the Walkman players allow for easy notebook or desktop connection sans cables as well as quick and simple transfer of songs. By simply plugging the NWD-E020F into a PC, the built-in Auto Transfer software starts searching for music files2 on the computer and replicating these songs on the Walkman.

Similar to its predecessor, the NWD-E010F series, this new Walkman series is equipped with a FM tuner and 3-line color LCD display, letting the user enjoy the best of both music worlds as well as convenient song navigation. The Walkman players also support the open audio formats of MP3, security-enhanced Windows Media Audio (WMA), non-secure AAC and Linear PCM, enhancing file compatibility.

The Walkman NWD-E020F series will be available in Asia Pacific from mid June 2008.
