Singapore, 13 September 2007 - NEC announces the powerful 17-inch pro-media NEC VERSA P9110 notebook, ideal for sophisticated AV home entertainment demand and graphic intensive business users with impressive features to keep up with the high definition (HD) trend. Users can play highly-intensive games, flip album artworks, and enjoy high definition video on the road or from the Internet immediately.

"Due to high penetration of wireless home networks, home users tend to aim for indoor mobility computing solutions. P9110 allows media files to be displayed on the 17-inch large screen comparable to desktop monitors and provides the impact of cinematic movies and gaming excitement." says Makoto Iwasaki, Executive Director of NEC Computers Asia. "Business executives will appreciate the larger spreadsheet and, of course, they will also get to enjoy their favorite movies through the big widescreen when traveling."

The 17-inch widescreen display enlarges the display size by 47% compared to the normal 14-inch notebook. It provides cinematic visual enjoyment for home users and enlarges spreadsheet for business executives. To support 1080 HD video, P9110 also provides HDMI AV connection port and SPDIF digital audio ports that allow direct connectivity with HD TV and AV system.

To fulfill the demand of professional AV applications, graphic intensive business presentation and computer-aid-design applications, NEC incorporates top of the line nVIDIA graphic system GeForce 8600M GT with dedicated video memory supporting up to 1.79GB nVIDIA Turbo cache. This horse-power and pro-AV architecture notebook also comes with four surround sound speakers with a built-in subwoofer that can pump up the volume for movie theatre sound experience with crystal clear sound and additional bass intensity.

To provide the next generation of digital home, NEC VERSA P9110 features softDMA for connecting home media network. It works perfectly with home media server that stores thousands of video, music and photos. Moreover, users can stream their video signals, music, or digital photos from the home media server wirelessly and enjoy it anywhere around the home premises.

In addition, this new series notebook has a built-in numeric keypad ideal for easy number input and game controls. "Users no longer have to cramp their fingers while working or playing games as the ideal full-sized keyboard with the addition numeric keypad convenient them to input data with large amount of numbering involved and for gamers who require full control access of their games," added Iwasaki.

The latest Intel Core 2 Duo Processor together with Intel chipset and Intel wireless LAN enables the running of demanding multimedia programs, video relay, and VoIP teleconferencing with its built-in 1.3Megapixel webcam and integrated microphone for optimized performance with unique communications features.
