SINGAPORE -- 29 March 2007 -- ProCurve Networking, a business unit of HP and the world’s number two enterprise LAN switch vendor, has announced the ProCurve 1400 unmanaged Gigabit Switch series and the ProCurve 1700 Web Managed Switch series which are ideal for small and growing businesses.

These standards-based switches are suitable for deploying in open spaces and are designed for companies that do not have a large IT staff or extensive networking expertise. They are affordable, high-performance and easy to use to enable growing enterprises to focus on running their business and not their network.

The ProCurve 1400 and 1700 Switch Series are backed by ProCurve’s hallmark of quality and reliability, and the industry’s most comprehensive lifetime warranty.

The ProCurve Switch 1400 Series
ProCurve 1400 Series, ideal for building trusted networks, consists of two fan-less unmanaged Gigabit switches, the 1400-24G and the 1400-8G. These feature high-bandwidth connectivity and plug-and-play simplicity for enhanced collaboration.

The 1400-24G is a rack-mountable, 24-port 10/100/1000 switch with twenty-two 10/100/1000 ports and two dual-personality ports for either 10/100/1000 or Mini-GBIC connectivity for optional fiber uplinks. The 1400-24G is ideal for environments requiring larger port density. The 1400-8G is a small-form-factor switch with eight 10/100/1000 ports, and is best utilized for desktop use for small office connectivity or adding additional ports to conference rooms and classrooms.

The 1400 replaces the ProCurve Switch 2700 Series providing more value at a lower price.

The ProCurve Switch 1700 Series
ProCurve 1700 Series switches are Web Managed, fan-less 10/100 Layer 2 switches, consisting of 1700-24 and the 1700-8. These provide basic management and configuration capabilities, such as VLANs and Link Aggregation which are configured via an intuitive Web interface.

The ProCurve Switch 1700-24 is a rack-mountable, 24-port switch with twenty-two 10/100 ports plus two dual-personality ports for 10/100/1000 or Mini-GBIC connectivity for optional fiber uplinks. The ProCurve Switch 1700-24 is designed for office environments that require larger port density.

The small form factor and fan-less ProCurve Switch 1700-8 is designed for desktop use. It has seven 10/100 ports and one 10/100/1000 port, and is ideal for connecting small work groups or for extending network connectivity in open environments like conference rooms or classrooms.

ProCurve Networking Lifetime Warranty
The industry’s most comprehensive warranty – for as long as a customer owns the product – comes standard on all products with next-business-day advance replacement (available in most countries), free telephone and email support, and free software updates.

Pricing and Availability:
The ProCurve 1400 and 1700 Switch Series are available 1 April 2007.

Pricing:
