The Google Talk and the online MSN also occupy my time when I’m bored. No problems experienced when I read or send emails. The VoIP was the only voice communication to communicate to friends. The only feedback I got was that the other party actually hears a lot of echoes.

The first application I installed when I got hold of the N800 was Skype. Installation of Skype was a breeze and within minutes, Skype was up and running. Using my wireless network, I was able to make Skype calls with both my Skype out credits and PC to PC connection. The communication was very clear despite using it during peak hours (9pm – 10pm). There was no apparent lag during the one hour conversation to China, Yu Lin. However, Skype could be improved with video calls as I was unable to view the other caller’s video camera.

There is a Google Talk client in the N800 and it works really well. With the built in retractable and rotate-able video call camera, I used it to keep in touch with my family. The camera can only be used with the N800 Google Talk users for video conferencing and no other application can use it so far.
