Rated for operation at DDR500, these are far
speedier than the DDR400 standard that most motherboards support
officially. As such, this pair of RAM is well suited for overclocking
purposes. And because these are designed to perform under overclocking
stress, which can get very hot, Corsair has wrapped larger than
normal aluminum heat spreaders around the memory to maximize air
surface contact area and to draw heat off the memory modules fast.
The
Corsair XMS PRO series are also the first RAM modules to have nine
dedicated built-in LEDs that represent each memory bank's real-time
memory activity. It's a great asset if installed in a casing with
a side panel window and would certainly make a great conversational
piece with your friends.
