In the past six months, there were so many exciting and innovative PC component announcements and releases that it is nearly impossible to keep track with all of them. In the course of testing a number of them across all brands and platforms in our reviews, we've identified a couple of outstanding products. If you've not been keeping pace with all the ups and downs of the wide gamut of products out there, this guide will definitely relieve you as we select only the best of them and assembled them to form our Editor's Choice Gaming Rig.

We chose two different setups based on different technologies available in the market to form the ultimate gaming rigs. We paired an AMD Athlon 64 FX-55 processor together with ATI Radeon X850 XT graphics card to form the first system, while we chose to use Intel's Pentium Extreme Edition processor with a pair of NVIDIA's GeForce 6800 Ultra graphics cards in SLI mode for the second system. Both of these extreme systems were then tortured in our gaming benchmarks as well as overclocking sessions to see how well they stacked up.

A few weeks ago, we invited our readers to guess what PC components were used as the Editor's Choice Gaming Rig. The contest was a huge success with many correct entries submitted but we can only reward one lucky winner who would walk away with an Archos SV320 Portable Video Player. Without further ado, let us reveal the answers for the first system based on the AMD processor and ATI Radeon graphics card setup.
