Trust us; it won't be long before we'll be getting notebooks with infinite battery life that can run on solar power and your spit. For now though, you'll have to make do with the offerings from HP and Dell which claim 24 hours and 19 hours battery life respectively.

Now, you may be thinking this sounds like a ridiculously long time for a notebook to be running on battery, and no, our video isn't going to last all of the 24 hours (think of the bandwidth!). But rest assured you'll be getting everything via the magic of time-lapse photography as we put both notebooks through their paces:-

Well, the results were pretty much expected given the high definition video looping tests via the optical disc drive. However, do expect a lot more juice if you're just sticking with normal productivity tasks and maximum power saving features turned on.

Join us in about two weeks for our next ZoneOut video and in the meantime, we would like to wish all our readers a great new year from all of us at HardwareZone!

p.s. specs on the next page for those who dig these kind of stuff
