Sony VAIO Notebook Launch - All New Styles

Say what you want about Sony, you have to admit it has style. And plenty of it judging by its latest launch at the home of TheatreWorks at the 72-13 ICAA. The former converted rice warehouse plays host to Sony and its newest range of its VAIO notebooks with just about the right amount of flair to keep us interested despite having seen most of the new stuff which has already been touted earlier on in the day over at the US New York launch event.

With Windows 7 very close to launch, computer manufacturers are all about launching new products to take advantage of the better performance and optimization of the new Microsoft operating system. Sony's no exception, launching no less than four new VAIO products: L - their latest touchscreen AIO series, CW - a more affordable mainstream notebook series, the NW - similar to the CW, but cheaper, and the X - an ultraportable notebook that's based on the Intel Atom platform with 2GHz processor and a claimed 16 hours of battery life.

We'll be trying to get them in for a review soon enough of course, but let's just skip straight to the pictures of the new products. A point to note here is that there were no NVIDIA Ion-based notebooks in sight, and it looks to be that way possibly. Though we do understand that there may be a CULV-based unit, Sony was pretty evasive on answering our queries, only dropping vague hints. We'll have to wait and see, like everyone else; oh well.
