BL40 - The New LG Chocolate

LG took us to Hong Kong last week to witness the launch of their new Chocolate mobile phone, the BL40. The new BL40 is the fourth iteration in LG's Black Label series and it is to be the successor of the highly successful LG Chocolate.

The new Chocolate features a rather wide 4-inch screen which is large enough to watch movies in a wide HD panaromic view at 21:9 ratio. The large capacitive multi-touch touchscreen is also the main driver behind LG's unique S-class UI that add other functions like gesture input and tactile feedback. The phone is also encased in a smooth scratch-resistant glass that promises to keep the phone looking flawlessly clean.

At the LG Chocolate's red carpet event, LG also brought famous celebrities to talk about the new mobile phone's unconventional design and usability. Asia's leading actress Chi-ling Lin from Taiwan and Singapore's TV personality and jewelry designer Nadya Hutagalung were the first people to test and use the BL40. Citing the phone as a fashion accessory, Chi-ling Lin claims that "the simple chic design goes perfectly with everything".

Consumers who purchase the new LG Chocolate will also be treated with embedded content from director James Cameron's epic 3D fantasy, Avatar. These content will be unique to the Chocolate and will come preloaded in the handset.

The new LG Chocolate will be available in Singapore from 14 November 2009 at a recommended retail price of S$988 without contract.
