CES 2010: Intel Brings 32nm to the Masses

Embedded Processors and New Wireless Adapters

New Embedded Processors

Besides PCs and laptops, the new 2010 Intel Core line-up also includes 12 new processors for embedded devices such as kiosks, ATMS, digital signs, medical equipment, communications gear and industrial machines. These devices can take advantage of Intel's superb Core performance while going completely into low power mode when not utilized. Besides that, Intel also added error correcting code memory for applications that require a higher data integrity standard.

Entry-level workstations will also benefit from this new line-up with two new Intel Xeon 3400 series processors which will be paired with the Intel 3450 chipset.

Wireless & WiMAX

Extending the Centrino brand further, Intel will be introducing more wireless products that target a broader range of users. Three new Intel Centrino Wireless adapters will be made available and will feature advanced 802.11n multi-stream capabilities as well as dual-band support for WiFi. One of the new adapters will also come integrated with WiMAX supporting 2.3, 2.5 and 3.5GHz WiMAX bands, giving consumers up to 20Mbps of bandwidth on the go.

Besides providing connectivity, Intel will also provide the Intel My WiFi Technology which allows users to convert their laptop into a wireless hotspot.
