You would think that having 80 stream processors less would make a big difference in performance, but surprisingly, judging from what we've seen here, it doesn't. In terms of raw frame rates, the loss of 80 stream processors resulted in a loss of only a couple of frames per second, which will be unnoticeable to all but the most perceptive and sensitive of gamers.

While the problem seems well contained at this point, nonetheless, we highly recommend owners of the HD 4830 cards to download this build of GPU-Z and have a look-see at your own cards. The performance drop might not be much, but why settle for 560 stream processors when you paid for 640?
