A Board With Intelligence

The ASUS Ai series form a part of their recent motherboard offerings based on the Canterwood and Springdale chipsets. There are four components in the ASUS Ai technology, mainly AI Audio, AI Net, AI Overclocking and AI BIOS. These four unique blend of technologies contribute to make the board more intelligent and it goes without saying that a little bit of intelligence is far better than none.

Besides being the one and only board that boasts intelligence, the P4P800 Deluxe is also one of the highly integrated offering in their Springdale 865PE series. The board comes in a full ATX form factor and it's packed with a couple of other useful integrated devices, in addition to five PCI slots for added upgrading capabilities.

ASUS is really well-known for its stability and speed optimizations, and this is one reason why we were not surprised to find some sort of PAT (Performance Acceleration Technology) support in the P4P800 Deluxe. In fact, the way it works is really the same as the 875P's PAT mode. However, in order that the P4P800 stay clear of their 875P-based counterpart, ASUS called this enhancement technology, Hyper Path. As you'll see later in the review, the Hyper Path enhancement is really something that's quite mind blowing and it's also the main reason why you'll want to avoid the more expensive P4C800 Deluxe.

In the package, you'll find the following :-

  • The ASUS P4P800 Deluxe motherboard
  • ASUS support CD with drivers and utilities
  • 2x SATA cable
  • 80-conductor cable for Ultra DMA-66/100 IDE drives
