Introduction

The Tungsten T, Palm's recently revealed top-secret PDA, had just reached our lab last week and we wasted no time in testing it over the weekend.

The first noticeable trademark of the Tungsten T is that it slides open to reveal the Graffiti sketch pad. Besides being the first Palm device to run the new version 5.0 of the Palm OS, it is also the first to use a new breed of ARM-based processors - the Tungsten T uses the Texas Instruments' 144MHz OMAP (Open Multimedia Applications Protocol) processor. To stay in touch with the wireless world, the Tungsten T has Bluetooth wireless technology to connect to other devices or get wireless data access by connecting to a mobile phone (either through Bluetooth or Infra-Red). For display, the Palm PDA also features a higher resolution 320-by-320 pixel screen.
