MSI KT4 Ultra-FISR KT400 motherboard

Introduction

Now that we know VIA will pull the plug on the KT400 and then remarking it as the KT333, it's useful to note that before that happens, the KT400 still remains to be the only VIA chipset that supports DDR400 and AGP 8X for the Socket-A platform. While that transition will happen very quietly, it's probably time to make the decision to get one of these gems before they are crippled. Of course, you can always wait for the much improved version of the KT400 which will be known as KT400A. However, if you're just planning to run the board with DDR333 memory and at the same time take advantage of the AGP 8X interface, then VIA's KT400 should be on your shopping list.

MSI's new KT4 Ultra is the successor to the popular KT3 Ultra which was based on the KT333 chipset. The KT4 Ultra is a complete redesign to accomodate new features and it still comes in the familiar red PCB assembly. Packed in an attractive silvery box, the MSI KT4 Ultra will appeal to all who have grown to like MSI's ease of setup and reliability.
