The Color Purple
Imagine the color purple and you'll immediately think of ECS (Elitegroup) motherboards. Since last year, ECS has been branding their boards with purple PCBs (printed circuit boards) and although it is a rather unusual color to use, it is still pretty unique in its own way. Of course, most of the time, people couldn't care less about the color as you will seldom have the board opened out on display in your system. Besides, your eyes would be normally glued to the screen and not the motherboard. So, at the end of the day, the color and design of the motherboard will only serve its purpose in the retail shelves (so that it would catch the consumer's attention), and that alone, is a good enough reason for any manufacturer to beautify the way their board looks.
The ECS K7VTA3 is based on the VIA KT333 chipset and it comes with a fair bit of features for the power user. The board adopts a very standard layout with five PCI connectors and three DDR333 DIMM slots. The board comes with very bare accessories which includes the motherboard, a user's guide, a floppy drive cable, an ATA133 IDE cable, an I/O faceplate and a driver CD. Just like most of ECS' budget conscious boards, the K7VTA3 will not come with any fancy brackets and connectors as ECS believes in bringing affordable products to the user.
