The Stars at Computex

This year, the Computex 2002 show in Taipei will be bigger than ever and Hardware Zone will make its way to the show floors to give you a peek at what's to come in the year ahead. This time around, expect to see more innovative displays of the latest hardware, and the latest buzz should center around products for the Intel Pentium 4. Well, of course there will be some latest stuffs for the AMD fans too, but developments for the AMD platform, as we all know, have been pretty slow indeed.

At the show floors, we can expect to see a lot of boards for the Pentium 4, ranging from 850E, 845E and 845G boards in all shapes, sizes and features. Of course, these boards have already began flooding the market since its launch less than a couple of weeks ago, but we think it will be one of the highlights of most motherboard vendors.

At the same time, AMD is already preparing to announce new products during the Computex show. Although K8 (ClawHammer) is still far away in the horizon, most of you should be able to guess what AMD will be announcing there. Of course, we will try to give you guys a peek of the latest boards available for ClawHammer. We heard a couple of vendors will be displaying them in secret rooms.

NVIDIA will make its presence known at Computex too. Putting a lot of attention on the latest nForce chipset, they will host a showcase of their products. It may not be that interesting like last year, but we will keep our eyes and ears opened to sniff out the latest. Expect an interview with one of their key executives who will talk to us about the future of nForce in the desktop market.

Serial ATA should be the next big thing over at Hall 1 with vendors like Promise showcasing their latest serial ATA products. At the same time, we will pay a visit to HighPoint for a peek at what they have to offer too. Again, Hardware Zone will speak to Promise Technology and we will try to dig out as much information (and pictures) from them as humanly possible.

Of course, not forgetting the folks from VIA, SiS and ALi who will have a couple of surprises for us too.
