Not just long ago, Hardware Zone gave Gigabyte the best AMD 760-based motherboard award for the GA-7DXR. Picked out as one of the best among other nominees from Asus, MSI, EPoX and ABIT, the Gigabyte GA-7DXR stood out not only because of its highly integrated features, but its overclocking functions as well. It edged out overclocking favourites like EPoX and ABIT in its performance and on-board peripherals. Most importantly, the board commanded a good price, giving it more than enough reason to be awarded.

The new GA-7DXR+ is a revised model of the GA-7DXR, where you'll find most of its regular features on top of a couple of the most advanced features available for an AMD 760-based motherboard. Featuring an on-board FastTrak 133 'Lite' controller from Promise Technology, the GA-7DXR+ is ready for all the new IDE ATA133 drives out there in the market today. The board also featured an NEC USB 2.0 controller that supports an additional four USB ports on top of the USB 1.1 ports already supported by the VIA VT826C686B south bridge. In total, the user gets up to eight USB ports for all kinds of peripherals, from mouse to storage devices.

The Creative CT5880 audio chip. It's actually a PCI 128 hardware audio solution. Oh, did I mention it's also one of the integrated devices?

The board comes in an attractive blue PCB, all packed together with a printed manual, a CD with drivers and utilities, an IDE cable for ATA100 devices, yet another slightly higher quality IDE cable for ATA100/133 devices (for the ATA133 RAID controller), a 4-port USB 2.0 bracket and a quick installation guide.
