Antec's Performance Flagship Casing
One of the most popular makers of high performance computer components today, Antec has a global brand name that should be familiar to most enthusiasts. Power supplies, cooling fans and computer casings are but a few of the more common accessories that Antec is currently well known for. With the increasing popularity of silent computing devices, Antec was one of the first to embrace this trend with casings and power supplies that aimed to lower the decibels though not by compromising performance. So it was no surprise when Antec introduced the latest addition to its performance line of casings with an emphasis on quiet computing.
The Antec P180 Advanced Super Mid Tower is the successor to its best-selling range of performance-oriented casings and to justify its pedigree, Antec has gone out of the way to recruit the expertise of the enthusiast community in its design. As mentioned in this
preview article
, the Antec P180 had external creative input when designing the silent aspects of the P180. From the looks of it, the collaboration seemed to have been a happy one as Antec actually coined a new category, 'Advanced Super Mid Tower' in order to describe the unique characteristics found in the P180. Of course, it is as likely to be marketing hyperbole on its part. To find out if the Antec P180 really deserves a category of its own, let's take a closer look.
Is that a mini-fridge or a casing? The Antec P180 certainly has the looks of a high-tech toy.
