Introduction

The deluge of motherboards announced based on Intel's 945P Express chipset continue unabated with the promise of a mainstream platform for the Pentium D and a more budget friendly solution for the Pentium Processor Extreme Edition. Component giant Foxconn has also jumped on the bandwagon, releasing new motherboards based on the 945P Express chipset. Like most other manufacturers, Foxconn carries a duo-board line up, the mainstay 945P7AA-8EKRS2 and a budget 945P7AA-8KS2, catering for both entry and mid-level market. Since we've previously reviewed some of the more balanced solutions by the likes of ABIT, ECS and MSI, we set our sights to the opposite end of the spectrum and bring you a review of the entry-level 945P7AA-8KS2.
