Introduction

Today’s mobile lifestyle demands communication devices to be smaller, lighter and more powerful, an enduring trend evident in the evolution of portable devices such as music players and even personal computers. From a long history that started from battery powered boom boxes to the current darling of MP3 players, music on the go has long been a desire yearn by many and is likely to linger on for a long time to come. A similar observation can also be seen in personal computing where the economy pushing workforce are no longer restricted to chunky and clunky desktop computers due to the invention of notebooks and mini PDAs, some of which are even endowed with QWERTY keyboards to offer mobile warriors a highly competent handheld computing device.

That said, the highlight of today's session is the small and light Samsung SGH-E630, one of the newer sliders to join the company's hugely popular line of sliding mobile phones. To say the phone is petite would be a fitting description since it only measures 85mm by 43mm, about 22mm thick and weighs just 79 grams. Stunning in looks as it is in design, the black and silver color combination gives the SGH-E630 a polished and classic look and yet maintains a contemporary appearance. With the phone held in a slid open profile, it is instantly revealed that the phone isn’t built with a flat back. Rather, it has a gentle curve to it and is probably a shape meant to conform to the contours of your face.
