The Samsung SGH-D500

The Samsung SGH-D500 is another release from the Korean manufacturer this year shaped and designed purposefully to reaffirm its lead in the increasingly crowded sliding handset market. Despite its diminutive size, the phone can be found fully decked with a hearty serving of features and functions, so much so it was awarded "Best Mobile Handset" by GSM Association at the recently held 3GSM Congress in Cannes, France.

At first glance, the Samsung SGH-D500 looks sleek and dense with its smooth candy bar curves and two gray tones. No squeaks were audible when we held up the phone firmly in our hands and that speaks well of its build quality. On the handset itself, the most striking aspect was the gorgeous display. This measures 176 by 220 pixels and is capable of displaying more than 262,000 colors. Just below the screen is a four-way navigation key encompassing the center select/OK key while being bordered by two soft keys, a Call/Answer key, an End Call/Power button and lastly a Cancel button.
