In the digital camera market, there are only five eight-megapixel prosumer class cameras. Having reviewed three of them which are the Sony’s Cybershot DSC-F828 , Konica Minolta's DiMAGE A2 and the Canon's Powershot Pro 1 , we now focus upon our fourth model with the Nikon COOLPIX 8700. Featuring an eight times optical zoom in addition to its eight megapixel CCD, the COOLPIX 8700 resembles its smaller brother, the COOLPIX 5700 (five Megapixel) in terms of body design. However, the COOLPIX 8700 is not a mere megapixel beef-up as it sports several new features. In the following pages, we'll explore Nikon's prosumer flagship model in full depth.
