The Bundles

RICOH haven't been stingy on the bundle for the MP5125A DVD+R/+RW, and have included the following software:

Nero Burning ROM 5.5.8.2: Arguably the most comprehensive burning ROM for CD and DVD writers alike. Manual included.

CyberLink PowerDVD: For DVD movie playbacks.

Ulead VideoStudio 5.0 Special Edition: A video editing software for the Spielberg-wannabes.

The rest of the package are standard fare and includes the mounting screws, IDE and audio cables. Ricoh have also included a piece of DVD+R and DVD+RW media each.

Our evaluation drive here is manufactured in July this year, and uses the firmware version 1.27.

Lossless Linking

Pre-recorded DVD-ROM/Video media have data recorded contiguously without gaps in between. Re-writable DVD discs are expected to have the same manner in order to keep themselves compatible with today's DVD-ROM drives and DVD video players. This distinctive Lossless Linking technology keeps the gap between data within 1 micron when data is adding/editing. High Frequency Wobbled Groove that is defined in DVD+RW Standard makes precise positioning possible. DVD+RW discs, therefore, maintain high compatibility with DVD-ROM drives and DVD players, even when data is added or edited.
