BenQ's 16x DVD Writer & Digital Cameras
At BenQ's booth, there were a lot of buzz going with their new range of 16x DVD writers. Looks like they are jumping right into 16x write speed. According to them, these babies should begin shipping soon. We'll have the scoop for you guys as soon as we get hold of their drives. Also at their booth, we caught a glimpse of their new digital cameras as well as a very sleek and attractive smartphone.

Time to forget about 8x, and even 12x DVD writers. Keep a lookout for BenQ's upcoming series of 16x DVD writers. These writers should make their way into the retail stores by next month.
The new BenQ EW22U Deluxe is an external USB 2.0 drive. It burns both DVD+R and DVD-R discs at 12x and it comes with the usual 8MB of buffer.
BenQ launched two four MegaPixel cameras this Computex, one of which is the stylish BenQ DC E40. Like most FujiFilm digital cameras, it can capture images at higher than its original CCD resolution. In this case, it supports resolutions at up to six MegaPixels.
The other new introduction this year is the DC S40 which is also a four MegaPixel camera with similar features as the E40. The only difference lies with its higher optical zoom range at 3x, better macro capability and a swiveling 1.5-inch color LTPS LCD.
BenQ introduced the P50 mobile phone featuring Microsoft's PocketPC PE 2003 OS, a TFT-LCD touch screen and handwriting recognition.
