Introduction

We have been reviewing a lot of Centrino Mobile Technology-based notebooks lately. Let's take a look at one particular notebook that's not based on that platform for a change, which also happens to be a new offering that goes by the model name "5200-A751" from Toshiba. The 5200-A751 falls under the Satellite family of Toshiba notebooks, and is essentially the sucessor to the 5100-series. Like the models from the 5100-series, the 5200-A751 (a lower-specs model known as the A750 is also available) featured in this article is a desktop-replacement notebook, and like all notebooks from such class, it's forgivable for its size to slant towards the huge and bulky side. But where the 5200-A751 lacks in grace and beauty as compared to thin-and-light notebooks, it more than made up for it with some really neat and impressive specifications.

What do we mean by that? Well, for starters the 5200-A751 comes with the new NVIDIA GeForce FX Go 5600 graphics chipset. If you do not know by now, the GeForce FX Go 5600 is the first DirectX 9.0-compliant graphics chipset offered on a mobile platform (Gamers, you're going to love this). On top of that, the A751 also comes with a built-in DVD-R/RW/RAM Multi-Drive right off the shelve. Without further ado, let's move on to the next few pages and see what the 5200-A751 is truly capable of.
