Yet Another Extreme

NVIDIA's GeForce 7800 GTX has been available for quite a while, winning the hearts of gamers for the pace setting performance and ringing the cash registers as a result. Despite the no-show by ATI, and leaving the GeForce 7 series with the whole market segment to itself, consumers who intend to purchase it now actually have a luxury of choices. For in addition to the standard GeForce 7800 GTX based on the reference designs, there are quite a number of special, enhanced editions equipped with 'unorthodox' coolers and overclocked frequencies.

The ASUS Extreme N7800 GTX TOP that we just reviewed comes to mind when we mention this. With a third party cooler and daring clock speeds, it is the fastest graphics card that we have yet tested. Entering the fray today as the challenger, we have another Extreme card, this time it is the Leadtek WinFast PX7800 GTX TDH MyVIVO Extreme (now try saying that without taking a breath). With a name as grand as that, you'll know without a doubt that this is the flagship card from Leadtek, a reputed vendor in this business.

Following in its tradition of having an Extreme version for every of its graphics card product line, Leadtek has overclocked the Extreme and outfitted it with one of the largest coolers for the GeForce 7800 GTX. Lineup. With a buffed up appearance screaming of speed, can the Extreme from Leadtek beat our current champ from ASUS?

The usual yellow Leadtek color scheme pervades the packaging, contrasting with the dull greyness of the card itself.
